Watch 100 Years of Zombie Evolution in Pop Culture, from Night of the Living Dead to The Walking Dead
The zombie genre has undergone quite an evolution over the last century, not to mention a huge resurgence in recent years. It would be impossible to include every type of zombie that ever existed (or at least very unwieldy), but this is a remarkable recreation of arguably the biggest touchstones in the genre in the last century, from 1932's White Zombie to the upcoming Dying Light game.

The video, which was made to promote Dying Light: The Following, an expansion to last years' Dying Light video game, magically recreates different types of zombies on the same human guinea pig using makeup and a few lighting tricks. We've had the Night of the Living Dead shufflers, the government-created "Viral Zombies" from 90's video games, 28 Days Later's rage zombies, The Walking Dead's "biter" (a name only used in Woodbury, but "walker" would be too obvious), the fast World War Z zombies, and now, the gross, bloody, night-dwelling zombies of Dying Light.

Here are the amazingly rendered "rabid" and "biter" zombies, from my personal favorite zombie lore:
