Martin Freeman's Captain America: Civil War Role Revealed
Out of all the casting announcements for Captain America: Civil War, Martin Freeman's was arguably the most mysterious, but his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has finally been revealed. As many suspected, Freeman will be playing Everett Ross, a U.S. government official and extremely important character in Black Panther lore.

According to the report in Empire, Freeman's Everett Ross will work alongside Emily VanCamp's Agent 13, as seen in the new still above. In the photo, they're flanked by a German SWAT team, and Joe Russo has stated that a return to Germany will bring Steve Rogers "full circle" after his experiences in World War II.

In the comics, Everett Ross is a U.S. government representative who is assigned to T'Challa to escort him across American soil. He was created in order to serve as a stand-in for members of the audience who had misgivings about a black man headlining a comic book, so if the character is true to his comics counterpart, we can expect him to be very non-PC and "borderline racist."

Captain America: Civil War hits theaters on May 6.
