Six Sci-Fi/Fantasy Titles Coming to Netflix in March
March will see several new genre shows and movies come to Netflix's streaming service, but we know which one you'll be keeping up your subscription for: the highly anticipated sophomore season of Marvel's Daredevil. Considering that last year, Daredevil was the most-watched original show of the season (including House of Cards, which also comes out this month), this is shaping up to be a huge month for Netflix based on Daredevil alone, but there are plenty of other geeky titles to choose from. Here are six sci-fi/fantasy properties coming to Netflix in March:

Marvel's Daredevil season two - March 18

Daredevil blew everyone out of the water last year, becoming the most critically acclaimed Marvel outing (until Jessica Jones, that is), and breaking new ground on the comic book TV show as a genre. So the second season has a lot to live up to, but judging from what we've seen so far, it's more than up to the task. Jon Bernthal joins the cast as Frank Castle aka The Punisher, a vigilante who clashes with Daredevil over his "no-kill" policy, and Elodie Yung will appear as classic comics character Elektra, a highly trained assassin and Matt Murdock's old girlfriend.

Groundhog Day - March 1

Groundhog Day is a classic that transcends genre conventions, and emerges as the sweetest, most life-affirming time travel movie of all time (with the possible exception of Back to the Future).

Star Trek: The Motion Picture - March 1

Netflix is adding the first Star Trek film ever, which kicked off the influential (and still-running!) film franchise after the first television series was cancelled. Although the film never reaches the heights of the best Star Trek movies, it still contains all of the pleasures you would expect from a classic Star Trek film, including a swashbuckling adventure plot and a note-perfect Spock performance from the late and great Leonard Nimoy.

Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan - March 1

Both of the first two Star Trek movies are worth watching, but if you only watch one of them, it should definitely be Wrath of Khan, as the second film of the franchise is widely considered to be the best Star Trek movie ever, and is credited with reviving interest in the franchise. As much as we all love Benedict Cumberbatch, this is the definitive Khan movie, and is necessary viewing for any Trekkie.

The Returned season one - March 9

The French zombie drama Les Revenants is shaping up to be a modern classic, and the U.S. version, developed by Lost's Carlton Cuse, never quite reached that level of quality. It's perfectly worth watching, although while you're at it you should probably just watch the first two seasons of the original French series, which are also on Netflix.

The Falling - March 15

Game of Thrones and Doctor Who star Maisie Williams headlines this quiet, indie British film about an all-girls school that is hit with a mysterious fainting epidemic. It plays the subtle supernatural elements close to the chest, and the slow burn of the plot takes some patience, but it's well worth it, especially for another great performance by Williams.
