DC Comics Comedy Powerless Adds Alan Tudyk, Christina Kirk and Danny Pudi to Cast
< >
We wrote last night that the upcoming DC Comics comedy, Powerless, had signed Vanessa Hudgens to star as Emily Locke, and now we're learning that the former Disney star is being joined by a couple of geek icons.

Firefly's Alan Tudyk and Community's Danny Pudi have just been announced as series regulars along with Christina Kirk. Tudyk, most-recently seen alongside Firefly co-star Nathan Fillion in crowd-funded comedy Con-Man is a huge signing for NBC. With Tudyk, you're not just getting a great comic actor, you're getting someone who instantly resonates with the show's target audience.

Powerless will be set in what's been described by showrunners as 'the worst insurance company in America' and centers on Hudgens' character, Emily who struggles with life as a non-powered person in a world littered with superheroes and villains. Tudyk will play Del, Emily's new boss in the company's claims department and the show's lead 'villain'. Promoted to a position of power thanks to the fact the firm's owner is his dad, it sounds like Del will make life hell for Emily and her friends. Kirk will play Del's new assistant while Pudi play's Emily's best friend Teddy.

Work is currently underway on the pilot for Powerless, so let's hope that NBC like what they see, because this sounds like it could be a lot of fun.
