The Walking Dead: Scott Gimple Teases a Possible Negan Appearance in Next Week's Episode
Could we be seeing Negan's bloody arrival sooner than we thought? Ever since Jeffrey Dean Morgan was cast as the long-running comics villain, the general consensus has been that Negan will show up in the season finale, and then will be upgraded to series regular in the seventh season. But according to Scott Gimple, we may be seeing the foul-mouthed adversary much sooner than that, maybe even in next week's episode.
Um... what? Gimple's statements are weirdly specific, and yet completely noncommittal, which makes me think this is just a tease. We've been hearing for so long that Negan will make his first appearance in the finale, Gimple is probably just trying to keep the fans on their toes and make everything a little less predictable.
But then again, maybe I'm wrong. We know that Rick and his group will face off against Negan's Saviors next week, and I actually thought it would be strange to see that confrontation happen without seeing Negan at all. But still, I think they'll stay true to the comics and save it for the season finale, when a certain fan favorite is probably going to meet his maker.
Here's the official synopsis for next week's episode, "Not Tomorrow Yet":
The Walking Dead airs on Sundays at 9pm ET on AMC.
