CBS Boss Says Supergirl and Limitless Will Be Renewed for Second Seasons
Supergirl, particularly star Melissa Benoist, has completely charmed us over the last year, and CBS knows it, as CEO Leslie Moonves just announced that the network plans to renew all of its freshman series, including Supergirl and Limitless.

Opening quote
"We have five new shows on this year," Moonves said at the Deutsche Bank 2016 Media, Internet and Telecom Conference (via THR). "Of those five, I believe all five of them will be renewed."
Closing quote

In addition to Supergirl and Limitless, this means they'll likely be renewing first-season dramas Life in Pieces and Code Black. Their fifth freshman drama, Jane Lynch comedy Angel from Hell, was already canceled after airing only five episodes, so we don't know exactly what he means when he says he thinks they'll all be renewed. Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders and Rush Hour are both premiering later this month, so maybe he thinks anything with the words "Criminal Minds" in it is a lock to be renewed.

In any case, it seems that Supergirl, at least, is safe. It has some of the best ratings on CBS, which have slipped recently, but not enough to put it on the bubble. Limitless is a little bit more of a wildcard, as its ratings have dropped significantly since its strong premiere, so we would imagine that one isn't necessarily set in stone. But we really only care about Supergirl; Limitless is a completely underwhelming adaptation of a movie that was underwhelming to begin with, so we wouldn't miss it.

Supergirl airs on Mondays at 8:30pm ET, while Limitless airs on Tuesdays at 10pm ET on CBS.
