Legends of Tomorrow Casts "Beloved" DC Superhero for Season 2
< >
Legends of Tomorrow was originally billed as an anthology series, but with a couple of exceptions, the team has largely stayed the same over the course of the first season. However, there will still be a few cast shake-ups in the already-confirmed second season, including the addition of Suits star Patrick J. Adams as a DC Comics superhero that is reportedly a fan favorite.

A few weeks ago, a rumor started going around that the final scene of the first season would introduce a "beloved superhero from the DC canon whose mysterious agenda serves as 'a launching off point for season 2.'" Now, EW has confirmed that rumor as well as Adams' casting, describing his role as a "fun character the fans will love."

The character has been confirmed for the finale and the second season premiere, and will recur in season 2. It's unclear whether he's a hero or a villain in the context of the show, but he has been described as a hero with "a mysterious past and equally mysterious agenda." Many fans are already speculating that it will be Booster Gold, although TV Line claims that they've ruled out that possibility.

In addition to whomever Adams is playing, Marc Guggenheim told IGN (via Blastr) that there will be several seats to fill for season 2, now that we've lost at least Hawkman and Mick Rory:
Opening quote
"We've certainly talked about it, and talked about the fact that, depending on how long our second season is, maybe people come in for just a few episodes, and we get different kinds of actors and stuff. I don't think the show is going to have a brand new cast next year. The poster is going to look fundamentally the same as it did… You know, Rory got disposed of in Episode 7, and you know we already lost Hawkman. So, we've got a few empty chairs on that bridge. With empty chairs come possibilities."
Closing quote

So who do we think might come aboard? Jonah Hex is a possibility, and Matt Ryan's Constantine would make many fans' dreams come true. We're hoping that Vixen will join the team after her successful Arrow appearance, but the possibilities are literally endless. Who do you want to see on the team next year?
