Arrow: Spoiler-y Set Photos Reveal Who's in the Grave
Possible spoilers for Arrow season 4 follow!
Ever since the first trailer came out for season four of Arrow, fans have been speculating about which character will end up in the grave Oliver is seen mourning over in the premiere. The trailer for next week's episode revealed that we're finally going to find out on Wednesday, but unless this is an early April Fool's joke, it looks like set photos have already spoiled it for us:
The most recent set photos clearly show that Laurel's name is on the grave, which is a pretty clear indicator that she's going to be the one who dies in this episode. There's still a little bit of wiggle room, but considering that the above photos also show Sara and Captain Lance mourning over her grave, it doesn't look good. Previous set photos revealed that Alex Kingston's Dinah Lance is returning, which means that Captain Lance was pretty much the only other viable option. Unless this is an extended dream sequence (which is possible, especially considering that "Black Canary" is weirdly written on the grave as well), Laurel is going to leave the show, provided they don't find another Lazarus Pit.
This would be a bold move for the show to take, since Black Canary is such an important character in the comics, but it wouldn't be entirely unexpected. Laurel has been a problematic character from the start, and although she's improved since taking on the Black Canary mantle, it wouldn't upset nearly as large a contingent of fans as killing either Diggle or Felicity. We'll see when the episode airs on Wednesday, but it looks like Arrow is about to depart from the comics in a big way.
