Audio Analysis Clears Up the Dialogue from Rey's Star Wars: The Force Awakens Vision
< >
Star Wars: The Force Awakens was loaded with easter eggs and fan service, and while much of it was just a bit of fun, there were some more mysterious elements that could provide hints on the mythology behind the movie. In no scene is that more relevant than the one involving the vision Rey sees after touching Luke Skywalker's lightsaber.

This scene alone was enough to bring some fans back to the theater multiple times, but now The Force Awakens is available on Blu-Ray and digital, we're getting a chance to really study what happens. I must admit that I've watched it a number of times and been able to ascertain what a small portion of the lines were, but others have been far more productive (and methodical) in their studies.

Youtube user Mike Zeroh has released a video clearing up just about every single line of dialogue from Rey's vision. Many of these lines are ones you probably picked up on during your many viewings of the movie, but others were trickier to make out and have been made a little easier to decipher thanks to the work in the video.

If videos aren't your thing, we've broken down the dialogue in sequence for you below.

Vader: *Heavy Breathing*
Young Rey:  Noooo!
Yoda: Its energy...(echoes)
Palpatine: *Screaming*
Yoda: ...surrounds us...
Luke: Noooo!
Yoda: ...and binds us...
Luke: *More screaming*
Obi-Wan: You will be tempted
Obi-Wan: But you can not control it
Yoda: Surrounds us
Obi-Wan: The Force will be with you
Palpatine: Any Jedi
Young Rey: No! Come back!
Unkar: Quiet, girl.
Young Rey: No!
Obi-Wan: Rey?
Obi-Wan: These are your first steps.

As I said, most of these lines will have made themselves clear to you at some point, but it was the Palpatine line and a few of the added Obi-Wan lines that were the real revelation for me. The words "any Jedi" appear to be taken from the moment in Revenge of the Sith when Palpatine reveals his knowledge of the Dark Side to Anakin. You can see that moment in the video below at around the 1:55 mark.

Now all we've got to do is figure out what the hell it all means. If, of course, it means anything at all.
