The Avengers: Infinity War Movies Will Get New Titles
Are clunky franchise movie titles finally going the way of the dodo? The Russo brothers, who are responsible for both Avengers: Infinity War movies, have confirmed that they will both be retitled rather than going with the clunky "parts one and two" working titles they have now.
In an interview with Uproxx promoting Captain America: Civil War, Anthony Russo said that the "part one" and "part two" titles would be "misleading," because they're not each half of a story, but complete and significantly different stories.
Honestly, this comes as a relief. The two-parter titles are silly and give the impression that, like all of those final YA novel adaptations, one movie is being needlessly split into two. (Plus, in this day and age, it can only be a good thing for individual movies to have their own Google search results. Just saying.)
Captain America: Civil War comes out on Friday, while Avengers: Infinity War parts 1 and 2 (for now) will be released on May 4, 2018, and May 3, 2019, respectively.
