DC Comics Unveils New Logo
DC Comics has unveiled a brand new logo as a tribute to the company's past. The retro logo is reminiscent to the clean lines of the logo in the early '70s, and will debut on the cover of DC Universe: Rebirth Special #1 on May 25. That issue will act as a soft reboot for the company following the hard reboot of 2011's New 52, which acted as a fresh start for the DC universe, and will largely go back to the more classic style of the DC universe while still keeping some details from the New 52.

The new logo is meant to establish DC as more of a media powerhouse than just a comics maker, similar in the rebranding Marvel has undergone over the past decade. Here's what Amit Desai, DC Entertainment's Senior Vice President of Marketing and Global Franchise Management (that's some title), had to say about the change:

Opening quote
"While comics continue to be the heart and soul of DC, the brand has evolved to now stand for powerful storytelling across so many different forms of media. DC is home to the greatest Super Heroes and Super-Villains, and the new logo has the character and strength to stand proudly alongside DC's iconic symbols. The launch of the new logo is the perfect tribute to DC's legacy, exciting future and most importantly, our fans."
Closing quote

Will the new logo lead to more quality films in the DCEU? That remains to be seen, but frankly we think the logo was the least of Batman v Superman's problems.
