Supply Pod Reveals Exclusive Variant Cover for IDW's Star Trek: Altered Encounters
Supply Pod is boldly going where no pod has ever been before. After previous themes have seen Supply Pod customers immersed in Sci-Fi classics like The X-Files, Star Wars, and The Martian, the only mystery box to unite the worlds of Science and Science-Fiction is moving to Warp Speed with a whole pod loaded with Star Trek-inspired collectibles, science kits, and more.

In this, Star Trek's 50th anniversary year, there's so much to look forward to for fans of the franchise. In just a matter of weeks, Kirk, Spock, and the rest of the Starship Enterprise crew will be going on their latest adventure in Star Trek Beyond. A few months later, in February 2017, the first new Star Trek TV show in over a decade will land on our screens. It all means that there has never been a better time to be a Star Trek fan, and in celebration of that fact, Supply Pod has revealed limited edition artwork created exclusively for their upcoming Warp Speed Pod in partnership with IDW Comics.

Created by artist Tony Shasteen, the artwork below will grace a limited number of covers for Issue #59 of the IDW's hit 'Star Trek' series and is only available in this month's Warp Speed Supply Pods.

Opening quote
"My goal for the cover was to show, through color and mood, the unseen danger that the crews have discovered and have to deal with in this issue," Shasteen told Outerplaces.com. "Showing unseen danger is a tall order. I used the vivid red of space and the help of the actor's intenseness to drive the fear home. I hope it worked!"
Closing quote

Star Trek #59 kicks off the 'Altered Encounters' arc, a two-part series finale that will see Kirk and the crew coming up against....themselves. Uniting two separate Star Trek timelines, Altered Encounters is a story written by Mike Johnson with art by Tony Shasteen.

Supply Pod: 'Warp Speed' is now available for purchase.
