E.T.'s Easter Egg in Phantom Menace Earns Him a Place in a Star Wars Exhibit
The Barcelona Wax Museum in Spain has a comprehensive Star Wars exhibit, and we mean really comprehensive. So comprehensive, in fact, that they included E.T.—and not the extraterrestrials that are actually featured in Star Wars, but the one who likes Reese's Pieces and has his very own movie.
As eagle-eyed Star Wars fans know, E.T. does, in fact, appear in the Star Wars franchise, but only in a blink-and-you-miss-it Easter egg, in which members of E.T.'s species call up to the Senate during those fascinating trade discussions:
So it's possible that the Barcelona Wax Museum is just covering all of its bases, but it seems more likely that no one at the museum has actually watched Star Wars. Especially considering that the statues of Han, Luke, and Leia look more like Bryan Cranston, Meryl Streep, and Morticia from The Addams Family:
