Edgar Wright Endorses Anna Kendrick for "Squirrel Girl Against the World"
< >
We want to see this movie so badly. In a new (and adorable) Twitter exchange, Scott Pilgrim versus the World director Edgar Wright and Squirrel Girl favorite Anna Kendrick brainstorm a movie that essentially sounds like "Squirrel Girl Against the World."

Everything about this is perfect. Anna Kendrick would be an amazing choice to play Doreen Green, and has even said that she wants to play her. Edgar Wright is an incredibly talented director who is known for the same kind of silly, irreverent humor that would befit a Squirrel Girl movie. And yes, he had that snafu with Ant-Man, but we still want to see him direct a Marvel movie at some point.

But most importantly, this plotline would be absolutely perfect for the Squirrel Girl character. In the Marvel comics universe, it's become a running joke that Squirrel Girl can take down any opponent, in spite of slightly lackluster powers, using her smarts and ingenuity. So naturally, she would beat everyone from Lego Robin to Superman:

Of course, some of Wright's suggestions are DC characters, so the roster would probably be a little different, but Cap, Punisher, and Brie Larson's Captain Marvel could all be thrown in there. And this would probably never happen, because he's owned by Fox, but we're desperate to see a Deadpool/Squirrel Girl crossover, especially if it meant uniting Kendrick and Ryan Reynolds on screen.
