Margot Robbie Says She Wants to Play Harley Quinn "Forever"
Suicide Squad comes out this weekend, and unfortunately, it may not be the saving grace for the DCEU that many of us hoped. The first reviews have been ruthlessly harsh, calling it messy, poorly edited, and—in some cases—the worst blockbuster of this disappointing summer season. But through all of that, Margot Robbie's performance as antiheroine Harley Quinn has been praised, and luckily for all of us, Robbie herself is down to become a lynchpin of the floundering DCEU.

In a new interview with IGN, Robbie discussed the recently announced Harley Quinn spin-off film, which will feature several DC heroines and villainesses:

Opening quote
"I have been talking to Warner Bros., I had a couple ideas. Because the DC world is huge, and there are still so many more bad-ass female characters out there and storylines yet to be explored."
Closing quote

We don't know exactly which characters will appear in this film, but according to the initial announcement, it may involve Barbara Gordon and the Birds of Prey (which would make sense, especially considering that Suicide Squad's Katana and Enchantress were both members of the Birds of Prey). Hopefully the poor reception (and possible disappointment at the box office) won't derail this project, because if done right, it could be amazing. Robbie is almost universally beloved as Harley, so it would make more sense for DC to double down on the character, just like they have with Ben Affleck's Batman.

And while a Suicide Squad sequel is still up in the air, Robbie is ready to continue playing Harley in the DCEU indefinitely:

Opening quote
"I just want to keep playing Harley forever," Robbie said.
Closing quote
