Clooney to Star in ‘Top-Secret’ Sci-Fi Movie, ‘1952’?
We think Hollywood might be getting a bit nostalgic on us. We thought the days of storylines and pre-production projects being fiercely kept secrets were long gone, but it would appear we were wrong.
Internet outlets (like us) have been responsible for giving information hungry sci-fi fans all the rumors and news they crave almost as soon as it breaks. This has meant that studios, instead of fighting a losing battle to keep storylines and key signings a secret, have started to use a constant stream of information to keep their fans interested. Trailers are released early on in the production process and often give away key plot lines. But this may all be about to change…
Maybe we are reading too much into it, but the team behind Star Trek: Into The Darkness has done a great job of keeping us tantalized with limited information. Now another sci-fi movie, which hasn't even been given the green light yet, is keeping us guessing. Disney's proposed '1952' project already has Brad Bird of 'Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol' fame, attached to direct, but now there are rumors they are looking to bring some serious acting clout to the project, with George Clooney supposedly in negotiations.
The film is rumored to feature a blend of sci-fi and fantasy, with Disney sure to add their trademark glitz to the production. If Brad Bird does end up directing, his previous work on the likes of Ghost Protocol and Pixar's 'The Incredibles', give us a great deal of optimism for the project.
