Why Isn't Everyone Talking About This Amazing Headless Cyborg From the Rogue One Trailer?
From Mon Calamari like Admiral Ackbar, to Astromechs like R2-D2, and Sullustans like Nien-Nunb, Star Wars has created some truly magnificent creatures and machines over the years. From what we've seen so far, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be no different. K-2SO will be the movie's robotic comic relief, and new worlds like Jedha and Scarif should give us a few new species to add to the ever-expanding canon. But, while people are already raving about Alan Tudyk's K-2SO, nobody seems to have noticed the fact that yesterday's Rogue One trailer introduced what might be one of the Star Wars Universe's craziest creatures yet.

During the scene in which you see Stormtroopers riding into town on a tank, most eyes were understandably on the Stormtroopers in the tank, because you know, why wouldn't they be? But standing off to the side taking the scene in is a creature with armored humanoid legs, beefy humanoid arms, and wait, where did his head go?

Honestly, at first I thought his head was just somehow out of shot, but upon closer inspection it looks like the creature has a flat, almost Astromech-style plate where his head should be. Also, is that a jet pack? Please let that be a jet pack.

If i'm not tripping out and I've got the measure of this creature design, this droid/cyborg thing is my new favorite Star Wars fringe character, especially now Nien Nunb has been shot to the heady heights of having his very own Battlefront hero.

Now all we need to do is get the good people at LucasFilm to tell us this thing's name and backstory.
