New Walking Dead Season 7 Clip, Plus a Message from Showrunner Scott S. Gimple
The Walking Dead season seven is almost here, and we all know what that means. Shiva the tiger is coming! We're about to find out, at long last, which character(s) got Lucilled in the sixth season finale. And in preparation for that moment, showrunner Scott S. Gimple is sending a message to fans to "be good to each other" for this "hard goodbye."

On The Walking Dead Season 7 Preview Special (via Comicbook.com), Chris Hardwick delivered Gimple's message to fans, and it's just as ominous and infuriating as you'd expect:

Opening quote
To the friends, fans, and curious, committed, the uninitiated, and the OGs, you know the beginning and it's almost here. Enjoy your summer, because the beginning is someone's end. But it is a beginning. What happens in episode one will shatter the lives of those who survive and will render the narrative in different trajectories. In which we will see our characters in completely new situations torn from the pages of the comic and remixed in The Walking Dead Remixnator 5000.

We'll see all new all different worlds with new friends, enemies and other. With alignments ranging from lawful good to chaotic evil and all the neutrals in between.

We'll see unthinkable dangers from the damnedest of places. Yes, there will be blood, but there will also be cobbler. We kid you not. There's going to be a hard goodbye in the beginning, but you know that, and it's almost here. As Simon says, be good to each another.

-Scott M. Gimple
Closing quote

AMC has actually done a surprisingly great job of keeping the identity of Negan's victim a secret (although we're pretty sure set spoilers have given it away). The first clip from season seven (below) doesn't technically shed any light on the matter, since the only live character featured in Dwight, although some fans have speculated that if Daryl were dead, Dwight would have his crossbow:

That specific theory is pretty speculative, although we think they're right that Daryl wasn't the one to meet Lucille. Who do you think it was?
