Henry Cavill Teases Black "Death of Superman" Suit for Justice League
< >
It's not really a spoiler that Superman will return from the dead in Justice League, considering that Henry Cavill has been all over the marketing materials (not to mention common sense, especially after the ending of Batman v Superman. But if a tease from Cavill's Instagram is to be believed, we're going to see it play out in a very comics-accurate way:

In the Death of Superman storyline in the comics, Superman is seemingly killed by Doomsday, in a similar manner to his death in Batman v Superman. Then, his body was restored by a "resurrection matrix" in the Fortress of Solitude, and he wore a black-and-silver suit while he was recuperating. Although we can't be absolutely positive, it certainly seems like Cavill is trying to tease that he'll wear a black Superman suit similar to the one in the Death of Superman arc.

In the comics, Superman soon returned to his classic, colorful costume, so this will likely be a temporary change (although this costume arguably works better with DC's darkened aesthetic). But it would be exciting to see a live-action adaptation of the Return of Superman arc, especially if we get to see Henry Cavill with the long hair from the Fortress of Solitude.

Opening quote
Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman's selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes-Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash-it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.
