Mr. Robot Gets Renewed for Season 3
Mr. Robot, one of USA Network's most-talked about shows in years, has been renewed for a third season. You might think that the renewal, which comes while the show is only midway through its second season, was a foregone conclusion. After all, critics continue to rave about Sam Esmail's show' with many saying that it's maintained the same quality of the first season that has seen it put up for no fewer than six Emmy nominations. But fans have been less responsive to USA's breakout hit since the show returned. Mr. Robot's second season has just experienced a new low of  572,000 'Live + Same Day' viewers, and while DVR performance is much stronger, the numbers are still well below those that were drawn in for its first season.

Thankfully though, USA execs know that ratings aren't everything, and they've backed their critical darling in a big way by giving it another season.
