Jared Leto Has Joined the Blade Runner Sequel
After rumors of numerous deleted scenes and contract restrictions on Suicide Squad, Jared Leto's name hasn't exactly been synonymous with happy thoughts over the past week or two. However, no matter what these minor controversies can do, there's no doubting that an actor of such talent will continue to attract major roles. That much has been made clear today, with the news that the Oscar winner has scored one of the last remaining big roles on Denis Villeneuve's upcoming Blade Runner sequel.

Variety reports that Leto will join Harrison Ford, Robin Wright, and Ryan Gosling at the top of the billing for the sci-fi sequel, which is set to hit theaters in late 2017. There aren't currently any plot details for the project, so talk of who Leto will be playing will be limited to mere speculation for now. Personally, I'd think that Leto's approach to acting would make him perfect for one of the leading replicant roles.

Leto is a big believer in method acting and famously drove his Suicide Squad co-stars slightly mad with his on-set antics as the Joker, which included sending packages containing various animals both dead and alive to the likes of Margot Robbie and Will Smith. I imagine if Leto tries to pull any such antics with Harrison Ford, he'll be getting a taste of the veteran actor's knuckles and some strong, gruff words to boot.

Blade Runner 2 is set for release on October 6th 2017.
