New Thor: Ragnarok Set Photos Tease Crossover with Another Marvel Superhero
First Chris Hemsworth tweeted a picture of himself and Tom Hiddleston's Loki, casually hanging out by an NYC newsstand, whose headlines read (among other things) "Hammer Attack " (with a picture of someone other than Thor), "God of Thunder Strikes It Up with Lady Justice," and "Villain Loki Spotted":
Then, a fan took a few more set photos, which Taika Waititi retweeted, possibly not realizing that it contained a potential spoiler:
Here's a few photos from the set of #Thor in #Brisbane today. Trying to keep it #Loki
As you can see in the blown-up version from the Marvel fan page (and also vaguely in the original set photo), the address in Thor's hand reads "177A Bleecker St," which we already know is the location of Doctor Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum. There's a small chance that the original set photo was a fan edit of some kind, but that seems somewhat unlikely, considering that Waititi retweeted the photo and Hemsworth has already confirmed that part of the film takes place in NYC.
Does this mean Doctor Strange will appear in Thor: Ragnarok? Technically, this only means that Thor is looking for Stephen Strange (or an object related to him) in the movie, but it would be pretty unsatisfying if he went to the Sanctum Sanctorum and Doctor Strange didn't even make a cameo appearance. Plus, of all the heroes in the MCU, it probably makes the most sense for Thor to cross over with Doctor Strange in some way, since they're by far the most cosmic and mystical superheroes of the bunch.
Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3, 2017.
