This Week in Star Wars: Adam Driver Compares Episode VIII to Empire Strikes Back, Rogue One Gets a New Composer, and More
Rogue One has gone through a lot of last-minute changes, but it's not time to panic yet. This week, the movie got a new composer in Jurassic World and Doctor Strange's Michael Giacchino, after Alexandre Desplat dropped out. Luckily, it doesn't seem to be any creative differences, simply a scheduling conflict after the reshoots went longer than expected.

But just in case its quality is lacking, Forbes did three box office predictions for the film: one in case the film is terrible, one that predicts it's similar to The Force Awakens, and the "realistic" prediction. According to the middle-of-the-road prediction, Rogue One will make between $750 and $1 billion worldwide. That's not too shabby.

Everything we've heard about Rogue One lately is pretty encouraging. Co-star Riz Ahmed described the differences between Rogue One and the rest of the films to The Wrap, and claimed that it's more complex, and "edgier."

Opening quote
The film is about complex characters and loyalties and murky pasts... The film is a little edgier, with people making these huge compromises. History isn't always clear.
Closing quote

Rogue One also got some awesome new international posters, which show off the claustrophobic premise and exotic locales of the first anthology movie:

Meanwhile, Fifty Shades Darker surpassed Star Wars: The Force Awakens for most-watched trailer in its first day. What is wrong with the world??

For more encouraging news, Adam Driver recently compared the Episode VIII script to Empire Strikes Back. We all loved The Force Awakens, but still, none of us want another redux of an original trilogy movie. Luckily, he's mostly referring to the fact that Episode VIII strikes a different tone and expands on the first film.

Possible spoilers ahead! (Click to reveal)

And speaking of Empire Strikes Back, a new purported Episode VIII leak claims that Snoke reveals himself to be Anakin Skywalker's father. That could be the new trilogy's "I am your grandfather" moment, I guess.

Disney/ABC co-chairman Ben Sherwood confirmed this week that Disney and Lucasfilm are in talks for another Star Wars animated series. He also said that there is still some hope for the live-action series, but we probably shouldn't get our hopes up.

In other animated news, Star Wars Rebels came out with another trailer for season two, and it shows Admiral Thrawn threatening Hera, seemingly while Hera is being held hostage. It also shows both Kanan and Darth Maul with the classic glowing eyes of the possessed.

In gaming news, Star Wars Battlefront: Death Star came out with a new gameplay trailer, and it looks absolutely amazing. It also announced a release date for season pass holders: September 20.

We discovered these amazing graphite drawings of Star Wars characters by artist Logan Koontz that are so hyper-realistic, they look like black-and-white photographs. Here's one of Rey:

I drew a thing. Rey. I drew Rey.
