That Funny Thor Comic-Con Video Is More Important Than You Think
In lieu of premiering footage from Thor: Ragnarok at Comic Con this year, Marvel instead showed a hilarious video showing what Thor was up to during the events of Captain America: Civil War. Mostly, he was annoying his new roommate, Darryl. And while we all thought the video was a funny joke, could it actually be more than that? Could Darryl be a part of Thor: Ragnarok?
It kind of sounds that way after hearing what director Taika Waititi told IGN about the video, and about Darryl in general. "Thor briefly rented a room in a flat in Australia after the Ultron debacle,"  the filmmaker said. "Just to get some downtime – to get away from The Avengers, to get away from America. So he had a little downtime in Australia. And he met this guy Darryl and they shared a flat together. So that's Darryl ... I think you probably could see him again. There may be other little pieces of that thing that everyone saw that may just be a small part of a bigger thing."

So what does that mean exactly? Could it be that after Age of Ultron, Thor really did move to Australia and share an apartment with a schlubby office drone? Is that video canon? If so, that would be insane, but there are parts of the video that will most definitely play into Thor: Ragnarok. Like Thor trying to figure out what the Infinity Stones are, or Thor and Bruce Banner hanging out together. But Waititi does literally say we'll probably see Darryl himself again, which would be all kinds of awesome. Without a doubt, Ragnarok sounds like it's shaping up to be the best Thor film yet.
