New Marvel Villain a "Mix of Spidey & Deadpool"
Spider-Man and Deadpool are two of the most popular characters in the Marvel universe today. Spidey has always been the House of Ideas' flagship character since he burst onto the scene in 1962, while Deadpool's current movie stardom has prevented Marvel from benching him like they have the rest of their Fox-licensed properties. So it makes sense that a new Marvel character would come along who blends elements from both heroes.

The character in question is Itsy-Bitsy, a new villain set to debut in Spider-Man/Deadpool issue #9. Writer Joe Kelly discussed the new foe with Preview's World, and he described her as "a villain that embodies the tone of the series - a little bit wacky, a little bit dark, and a mix of Spidey and Deadpool. And Nightmares." Sounds interesting. And sure enough, Itsy is wearing a shirt with a combined Spidey/Deadpool logo on it on the issue's cover - while also spinning a web around the two heroes. It also looks like she has multiple limbs and eyes with blue skin, and is overall quite terrifying appearance. Take a look.

Creepy indeed. And according to Kelly, the heebie jeebies with the character go further than skin-deep. "She's knows exactly what to say to upset you, freak you out, disarm you... clever but really base and nasty," he said. "Itsy has got layers for sure, but in round one she comes on strong and saucy. Maybe later, if everyone is good and does their chores, we'll get to the deeper levels. But she'll have plenty of affectations in this first appearance."

It's difficult to make a good, memorable villain (just look at most Marvel movies), but it sounds like Itsy's got the goods. We'll have a better idea when Spider-Man/Deadpool #9 hits store shelves on September 28.
