Jesse Quick Will Be a Full-Blown Speedster By The Flash’s Third Episode of the Season
Ever since San Diego Comic-Con 2015, fans have known that The Flash would be introducing Wally West and Jesse Quick as new speedster superheroes from the comics. Though both characters played large roles in the show's second season, only hints of their future heroics were actually shown on screen. Of course, fans also know that Wally's pre-meta days are about to come to an end, with the trailers and promos for The Flash's third season prominently featuring Kid Flash in full costume. Now, it's been confirmed that Jesse Quick's powers will be taking full effect as well with the release of a logline for this season's third episode.

Opening quote
Barry (Grant Gustin) and Team Flash are thrilled to reunite with Earth-2 Wells (Tom Cavanagh) and Jesse (guest star Violett Beane). Wells confides to Barry and Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) that Jesse has all the powers of a speedster and has been saving people on his Earth. He is concerned about her safety and wants them to talk her out of using her powers. Meanwhile, Magenta, (guest star Joey King) a new meta who can control metal, terrorizes the city.
Closing quote

The first episode of the season, which will draw heavily from the Geoff Johns graphic novel, Flashpoint, will bring Barry to an alternate timeline in which everything he knows is changed. However, it's beginning to seem doubtful that Barry will spend very much of his time in this alternate reality, with a logline for episode two seeming to hint that Barry will correct his mistake by the time the first episode comes to an end.

Either way, the purpose of Flashpoint in the comics was always to be a retcon event that allowed DC to make certain changes in their universe at the inception of the New 52 era. It's likely that this is all TV's Flashpoint is meant to be as well, so it shouldn't come as too great of a surprise if it doesn't take up a significant part of the show's third season.

Flashpoint will likely be a large factor in Jesse Quick becoming a superhero, though there was clear evidence in the second season that she had been given the same powers as Barry during their successfully attempted recreation of the particle accelerator explosion. So how exactly all of these things fall into place is still somewhat of a mystery.

The Flash's third season begins this Tuesday, October 4th, at 8 p.m. ET.
