Hugh Jackman Says "Very Different" Wolverine 3 Reveal Coming Next Week
< >
With all of the super hero movies coming out seemingly every month, it's easy to forget that the longest-running hero in the movies will soon be retiring. Hugh Jackman has been playing Wolverine since 2000's X-Men, the film that kicked off the current superhero craze, and he'll be calling it quits in next year's Wolverine 3. Not much is known about the film yet, but the actor has revealed that fans can expect some kind of big reveal next week.

Speaking to ET, here's what Jackman said about the upcoming film now he's wrapped filming.
Opening quote
"I just saw [director] Jim Mangold today, he's editing away and finishing that, I'm very very excited about it. There's going to be some stuff coming out in the next week or so, that's all I'll say. I'm really trying to, like I'm not good, I'm the kind of person who tells everybody everything. Basically, it's going to be very different, very different in tone, and hopefully different to anything we've done."
Closing quote

So let's see what we have to unpack here. Given that Mangold is editing, it seems like this "stuff" coming out in the next week could very likely be in the form of some kind of teaser. We're also excited to hear about the different tone. The Wolverine was considerably different (and better) in every way than X-Men Origins: Wolverine, and closing out the character with yet another type of film certainly seems like the way to go to complete his growth. Adapting the Old Man Logan storyline like many have predicted could certainly achieve that, and it sounds like we might know by next week if that is indeed the case.
