Forest Whitaker Joins the Cast of Black Panther
Forest Whitaker is starting to dominate the sci-fi film scene, as he's currently set to appear in the rave-reviewed "Arrival" in November, and then in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" in the month to follow. Now, he's been added to yet another science fiction property: "Black Panther."

According to a new exclusive by Variety, Whitaker has been cast for the role of Zuri, an elder statesman in the fictional nation of Wakanda. He's not the only one to recently be signed on for the film, either, as Daniel Kaluuya (Black Mirror, Kick-Ass 2) and Florence Kasumba have also been announced to be joining the cast.

Of course, Karumba isn't new to the Marvel universe, as she played the role of Ayo in "Captain America: Civil War." Apparently, Kaluuya will be playing the part of W'Kabi, a confidant to king T'Challa. Though these casting decisions don't really reveal much about the plot of the film, it's still exciting to see everything starting to take place for the Black Panther to take to the big screen for his first standalone film. And as Kaluuya played an extremely memorable role as Bing in the season one episode of Black Mirror, "Fifteen Million Merits," it'll be exciting to see how his character factors in to Black Panther.

T'Challa made his big screen debut back in May when Captain America and Iron Man went head to head in Civil War. He was received incredibly well, and many Marvel fans cite Chadwick Boseman's performance and Black Panther's appearance as one of the high points of the flick.

Black Panther is currently slated for a release on July 6th, 2018.
