Doctor Strange Will Play a 'Very, Very Important' Role in Future Avengers Movies, Says Kevin Feige
So we're just over three weeks away from the premiere of Doctor Strange, and the hype train has officially left the tracks and entered another dimension. We've already seen Strange's Cloak of Levitation in the international trailer and heard that the movie will be similar in tone to "Winter Soldier," but the hardcore fans have wondered what place Strange will have in the greater MCU—by all accounts, interdimensional threats make the Avengers seem small-time.

Well, according to an interview with Kevin FeigeMarvel Studios president, Strange is gonna be a big deal:

Opening quote
"Doctor Strange plays a very, very important role in the [Marvel] Cinematic Universe going forward," says Feige. According to the Marvel Studios boss, the character will feature in "many upcoming films, including the next Avengers films."
Closing quote

Yep, so look out for him in Infinity War, folks! And keep an eye on that Eye of Agamotto, too...it might just be an Infinity Stone. Maybe. Probably.

Fans of the upcoming Strange movie will also know that there are two Benedicts on the set: Benedict Cumberbatch and Benedict Wong (who, confusingly, plays the character Wong). Long-term, Feige is looking for a different kind of double-trouble from Cumberbatch—double Sherlocks. Both Robert Downey Jr. and Benedict Cumberbatch have played extremely successful iterations of Sherlock Holmes in recent years, and by strange coincidence, both have ended up being headline Marvel superheroes. Before too long, Feige wants to get both of them in the same movie so that he can harness that chemistry:

Opening quote
"We were backstage together at an event, and I don't know what it was, and it was long before Benedict was officially cast as Doctor Strange - it was something that we were dreaming about at that point. But I remember looking at Robert and Benedict, who of course have both played Sherlock in their highly successful franchises. But I was just sitting there quietly thinking, One day they're both going to have goatees and be in one of our movies!"
Closing quote

Note that Kevin Feige is especially excited about the prospect of double-goatees. No comment on this, just a note.

But before we see a Downey Jr./Cumberbatch team-up, we've got a new trailer from ET where each of the Strange actors talk about what they have in store for their characters (hooray!). Kevin Feige pops up again, calling the movie "an embarrassment of riches," while Tilda Swinton in particular seems excited at portraying the Ancient One. Check it out below:

So the trailer is already showing a couple things: Strange's relationship with Christine Palmer, Wong's relationship with Strange, and a little bit of dry wit from the Doctor (that "Adele" quip in particular seems quite cheeky for a soon-to-be Sorcerer Supreme).

Doctor Strange premieres in US theaters on November 4th.
