Ewan McGregor Now Wants Two Obi-Wan Standalone Films
It's no secret that Ewan McGregor has been sort of campaigning for his own Obi-Wan Star Wars film. And while there's not been anything to indicate that LucasFilm has an Obi-Wan standalone project in the works, that hasn't deterred McGregor from continuing to speak out about his vision. Now, it appears he's upped his game, as he recently stated in an interview with the French magazine Premiere that he'd like not just one Obi-Wan solo film, but two.

Opening quote
It would be fun to film that story now [that] I'm older. I'd be the right age. I'm forty-five, Alec Guinness was what, sixty? I could do two of them!

…I hope that they're going to explore different genres under the Star Wars banner. And one of those could be an Obi-Wan Kenobi feature film. Or two! The Obi-Wan Kenobi Story Part 1 and Part 2!
Closing quote

It seems that McGregor really does have his own vision for how he'd like to see Obi-Wan used under Disney's new Star Wars regime. He just made his first directorial debut as well with American Pastoral, so there's even the potential that he could be the Ben Affleck of the Star Wars universe, acting, writing, and directing his own film. Then again, McGregor's movie didn't fare quite as well with critics as Affleck's own directorial debut, so there's probably a very small possibility of that actually happening.

Still, McGregor is seen by many Star Wars fans as one of the only things that the prequels actually got right. But even though he had a voice cameo during Rey's vision in Episode VII, Disney is obviously doing everything they can to keep from reminding fans that Episodes I, II, and III exist. Still, if the Han Solo standalone film in 2018 ends up doing well, it wouldn't be a stretch to imagine an Obi-Wan solo movie following soon after.
