Donald Glover Officially Cast as Young Lando Calrissian in the Han Solo Movie
It's official! After months of rumors, Donald Glover has (finally) been cast as young Lando Calrissian in the Han Solo movie, making us infinitely more excited for it already.

Reports started surfacing that the role was being cast back in August, which naturally led to rumors about fan favorite Glover being in the running. No one involved would confirm or deny it at the time, but it looks like our dreams have actually come true. Lucasfilm finally made the announcement today on StarWars.com, and also released a nice message from Han Solo directors Christopher Miller and Phil Lord:

Opening quote
"We're so lucky to have an artist as talented as Donald join us," said Lord and Miller. "These are big shoes to fill, and an even bigger cape, and this one fits him perfectly, which will save us money on alterations. Also, we'd like to publicly apologize to Donald for ruining Comic-Con for him forever."
Closing quote

Glover is best known in the geek world for Community and The Martian, and will also appear in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Fans had previously campaigned for him to play Ultimate Spider-Man Miles Morales, so if the geek gods are finally hearing us, maybe we'll get the news of that fan casting as well.

The Han Solo prequel hits theaters in 2018.
