Deadpool 2 Loses Director Tim Miller Due to Creative Differences
Deadpool won over crowds with its unconventional take on the superhero genre and it's irreverent, irresistible humor. Ryan Reynolds take on the merc with a mouth was undoubtedly a hit, with the film bringing in over $700 million worldwide when it was made on only a $58 million budget. So when a sequel was confirmed following the movie's release, fans were psyched to hear that Reynolds would be teaming with director Tim Miller once again to bring yet another zany superhero parody to the big screen. However, it's now been announced that Miller will not be coming along for the ride this time, having left the project over creative differences with Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds.

Deadline broke the news today, but the specifics behind Miller's departure have yet to be named. It's clear that Reynolds fought long and hard to get Fox to green light the first Deadpool, and what fans saw on the big screen was at least partly the actor's own vision for the character. Still, as director, Miller was the guy responsible for bringing that opening sequence and all the other stylized, highly choreographed action scenes to life. While there are plenty of other directors who are capable of creating some truly stunning visuals for the film, Deadpool 2 obviously lost quite a talented moviemaker.

Miller has already joined a different project, as he's set to direct a movie called Influx, an adaptation of a David Suarez novel. Likewise, Deadline is reporting that Miller and the rest of the Deadpool team are still on good terms, despite the differences in vision and the director's departure. Hopefully everything works out fine for both parties, and Deadpool 2 is able to find another capable filmmaker to helm the movie.

Casting is currently underway for Deadpool 2, which is currently slated for a release in 2018.
