Check Out These Amazing Wonder Woman Posters Ahead of the New Trailer
Wonder Woman's dramatic entrance in Batman vs. Superman established her pretty quickly as a Grade-A badass, but the upcoming movie, simply titled Wonder Woman, promises to be a non-stop ass-kicking montage with everyone's favorite Amazonian princess. Wonder Woman is coming in June of 2017, so that leaves us with over six months to get excited, especially with the new trailer premiering today. Ahead of that, however, Warner Brothers released three new posters that show WW in all her warrior-glory.

The first one is captioned "WONDER":

The second is "COURAGE":

The third is "POWER":

Before you check out the new trailer today, be sure to watch the first one here—it looks like the new movie will be set during World War I, with Wonder Woman helping to fight in the trenches with her shield, bracers, and cool, rune-inscribed sword. It's an interesting take on Wonder Woman—Captain America fought on America's side during WWII, but he was originally a soldier who loved eagles, baseball, and apple pie. Wonder Woman, as the first trailer showed, is a person out of time—she's been training with the rest of the Amazons her entire life, and the affairs of the rest of the world haven't really been her concern (until now). Here's the official synopsis:

Opening quote
Wonder Woman' hits movie theaters around the world next summer when Gal Gadot returns as the title character in the epic action adventure from director Patty Jenkins. Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.
Closing quote

It's kind of troubling to see World War I taking on the role of the main conflict for a superhero like Wonder Woman—sure, it gives plenty of action to work with, but it doesn't seem to have a clear-cut connection to Diana's motivations yet. What stake does she have in the conflict, or in the world of men? Why does she fight at all if she wants to end the war? Maybe the second trailer will give us some answers. In the meantime, soak in those sweet new posters.
