The Entire Seventh Season of Game of Thrones May Have Been Spoiled
< >
Despite fans, publishers, and songs urging George R.R. Martin to finish his damn series, the HBO show has officially outrun the books, making Season 7 uncharted territory for readers and watchers alike—all that's known is "here be dragons." We've already gotten some sneak peeks at set photos and filming locations in Spain, as well as confirmation that there will be a big meeting between Jon Snow and Daenerys, but this new season will otherwise be a surprise. Or rather, it would be if an anonymous leaker on Reddit called awayforthelads hadn't spoiled the major events of the entire new season in a series of posts.

The user has since deleted their account, but the rabid fans on the GoT Reddit boards have preserved most of the major spoilers and created a timeline of the leaker's claims so that they can check to see if they match up with what we know about the show. For a summarized list of the Season 7 plot points awayforthelads claimed, you can check this list out. We still don't know if all the "leaks" are true, so there's a chance this could all be an elaborate hoax, but early reports have proven that at least some of the leaker's claims have been spot-on. Here are the major points from the spoiler-ific treasure trove:

  • Jon is found to be the rightful heir to the throne—he is the son of Rhaegar Targaryen, and his real name is Aegon. Jon doesn't know this yet, but Bran and Sam figure it out.

  • Jon and a crew consisting of the Hound, Beric, Thoros, Tormund, and Viserion journey behind the Wall to capture a White Walker and prove to Cersei that they're real. Viserion and Beric are killed, but they are able to capture a White Walker and bring it to Cersei, who vows to join Jon in a war against the Walkers.

  • Viserion is turned into an ice dragon by the Night King and becomes his mount.

  • Cersei betrays Jon Snow and doesn't actually send troops to help him against the Walkers—she wants his war with them to weaken his forces

  • The Wall will fall at the end of the season while Jon and Daenerys have sex. They become allies and lead a coalition against Cersei and Euron—Cersei and Euron's alliance does not succeed.

  • Arya and Sansa are reunited, and Arya kills Littlefinger after Sansa figures out that Littlefinger has been manipulating her.

  • Gendry returns and makes weapons at King's Landing.

This is just a little sampling of the potential spoilers that have come from the supposed leak—you can check out the links above for the full lists. We'll see if they all pan out in the coming season!

Game of Thrones Season 7 will premiere in Summer 2017.
