Here's How Much It Would Have Cost For E.T. to Phone Home
Steven Spielberg's E.T.: The Extra Terrestrial remains one of the most beloved and successful sci-fi movies of all-time, but it would take all the money the film made many, many, many times over to fund the titular alien's famous call home.

A website called TollFreeForwarding.com has crunched the numbers to find out how much it would cost for E.T. to place a ten minute phone call from California to his home planet of Brodo Asogi, which is 17,597,088,000,000,000,000 miles away - information not found in the film but in other canon materials. So just how expensive of a call are we talking here? How about $76,424,516,944,816,700. That's over 76 quadrillion dollars. That's obviously a huge number, but how much money is that really?

According to the site, the amount is over 2 million times the net worth of Spielberg, who is said to possess a not exactly tiny $3.7 billion. Maybe next time E.T. should just text, right? We're sure he has an unlimited plan.
