Ryan Reynolds Finally Addresses Tim Miller Leaving Deadpool 2
It's been a few weeks since director Tim Miller departed Deadpool 2 over apparent creative differences with star Ryan Reynolds, and in that time the actor has remained silent on the subject. Until now.

In an interview with GQ, Reynolds finally gave his two cents on Miller leaving production on the surprise hit's sequel, and while he refuses to get into the specifics of their disagreement, he sounds remorseful that Miller is gone:
Opening quote
"All I can really add is that I'm sad to see him off the film. Tim's brilliant and nobody worked harder on Deadpool than he did."
Closing quote

In the initial reports, it was claimed that for the sequel Miller wanted to nearly triple the budget of the original film and make a proper, blockbuster superhero movie to compete against the likes of the Avengers and their ilk. Reynolds, along with writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, recognized that the key to Deadpool's success was that it wasn't your typical superhero blockbuster, and they were looking to keep the low budget, scrappy, and irreverent feel of the first film. Ultimately, Reynolds and company won out and Miller left the project. The downside of that, however, is that the sequel is still searching for a new director, and it may face a delay if it doesn't find one soon, as the film is scheduled to begin shooting early next year.
