Sienna Miller Wants to Play Catwoman in Ben Affleck’s Batman Movie
Sienna Miller told me tonight that she wants to play Catwoman in Affleck's Batman movie. "She's not in the script but I wanna write her in!"— ErikDavis (@ErikDavis) November 19, 2016
Fandango editor Erik Davis recently met up with Miller, who's playing in Ben Affleck's upcoming film, Live By Night. Though it's impossible to tell how much she might know about the upcoming Batman solo project, it's evident that she must have talked to Affleck about it at some point. Keep in mind, however, that the context of these conversations isn't available and Miller isn't actually working on the script with Affleck and Geoff Johns.
An update to my Sienna Miller tweet, because I see it's becoming a news story: she is not writing the script, so don't take her word as bond— ErikDavis (@ErikDavis) November 19, 2016
It's entirely possible that Affleck told Miller writing the character into the script was a possibility; it's also possible that Affleck told Miller Catwoman wasn't in the script and that he still has no intentions of putting her there. Miller's about the right age for the role, and she definitely bears somewhat of a resemblance to certain artistic representations of the character in the comics and video games. Likewise, it's not uncommon for directors to pick favorite actors from past projects to fill out their casts, so it wouldn't be a stretch to say that when the day does come for a Catwoman casting, she stands a decent shot of landing the role.
The Batman solo film will likely hit theaters sometime in 2018.
