Sienna Miller Wants to Play Catwoman in Ben Affleck’s Batman Movie
Catwoman has been an integral part of Batman films from the very beginning, when Lee Meriwether played the iconic villain and love interest in the Adam West Batman movie of 1966. Since then, the character has had three different cinematic adaptations, with Michelle Pfeifer acting in the role in Batman Returns, Halle Berry in the almost unbearable Catwoman, and most recently, Anne Hathaway in The Dark Knight Rises. But a new era has begun for DC films with the inception of the company's shared cinematic universe, and a new actress is needed to take up the mantle. If Sienna Miller has her way, that actress will be her.

Fandango editor Erik Davis recently met up with Miller, who's playing in Ben Affleck's upcoming film, Live By Night. Though it's impossible to tell how much she might know about the upcoming Batman solo project, it's evident that she must have talked to Affleck about it at some point. Keep in mind, however, that the context of these conversations isn't available and Miller isn't actually working on the script with Affleck and Geoff Johns.

It's entirely possible that Affleck told Miller writing the character into the script was a possibility; it's also possible that Affleck told Miller Catwoman wasn't in the script and that he still has no intentions of putting her there. Miller's about the right age for the role, and she definitely bears somewhat of a resemblance to certain artistic representations of the character in the comics and video games. Likewise, it's not uncommon for directors to pick favorite actors from past projects to fill out their casts, so it wouldn't be a stretch to say that when the day does come for a Catwoman casting, she stands a decent shot of landing the role.

The Batman solo film will likely hit theaters sometime in 2018.
