The X-Men Won't Be Coming to the MCU Anytime Soon
Marvel and Fox seem to be playing nicer lately, between their cooperation on FX's Legion and their trade between Negasonic Teenage Warhead and Ego the Living Planet. But fans who thought that working relationship would translate into an actual crossover between the MCU and X-Men universes, don't get your hopes up just yet.

In a new interview with Variety, Kevin Feige was asked if Marvel could partner with Fox on a film as they did with Sony for Spider-Man:
Opening quote
"It's an impossibility at this juncture," he said. "We certainly have enough films to keep us busy for a number of lifetimes."
Closing quote

It's no surprise that there are no plans in the pipeline, since unsubstantiated rumors are always flying about this particular crossover. But Feige sounds completely decisive about the foreseeable future of the two franchises, which is a little surprising. They did partner with Sony, so it's definitely not a technical "impossibility." Maybe the two studios aren't playing as nicely as we thought, or maybe it's less of a possibility now that they're effectively replacing the X-Men with Inhumans. Either way, we shouldn't expect a team-up (or fight) between the Avengers and X-Men anytime soon.
