#AskRogueOne: The 'Rogue One' Cast Will Release New Footage During a Twitter Q&A Livestream
We are eleven days away from the world premiere of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the first-ever Star Wars film not about the Skywalker family (which, let's admit, are sort of like a galactic soap opera family). Instead, we're following the desperate mission of Rogue One, a ragtag team of rebels and their laconic, grenade-lobbing murder-bot, played by Alan Tudyk. We've already gotten some hints about the relationship between Director Krennic (Ben Mendelsohn) and Darth Vader, as well as some amazing trailers, but now there's a new reason to get excited: Rogue One director Gareth Edwards and the cast will be getting on Twitter to answer your questions ahead of the premiere!

Star Wars geeks, prepare yourself.

According to People (who is co-hosting the event), on Friday, December 2nd at 1 PM EST, Gareth Edwards, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy, Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, and Riz Ahmed are getting on a livestream to talk about the behind-the-scenes experience of making the movie, answer questions, and generally be charming. But it doesn't stop there: new footage from the movie will be released during the stream too! We're hoping the clip finally shows at least one Bothan spy dying with trying to steal the Death Star plans.

To take part in the live Twitter Q&A, you'll need to tweet your question with the hashtag #AskRogueOne. People magazine's Deputy Editor, J.D. Heyman, will be moderating the discussion. If you're looking for the place to watch the stream, you can go to RogueOne.Twitter.com or just head to the Twitter accounts of People (@People) or Star Wars (@StarWars). If you're looking for some ideas for questions, here are some examples:

  • For Gareth Edwards: how depressed were you when you found out you were directing a Star Wars film with no lightsabers?
  • For Alan Tudyk: which robot actors did you study to prepare for the role? For example, Calculon.
  • For Donnie Yen: as a martial artist, if everyone in the Rogue One cast came at you at once, how many could you take down before they overwhelmed you?
