Final 'Logan' Trailer Includes X-23, X-Men Comics and Blood
It's been known for some time that the R-Rated Logan would feature both heavier scenes of violence befitting its rating, and a plot involving X-23, a young mutant with identical powers to Wolverine (Hugh Jackman, in his final role). But we haven't seen too much of either until now, in this final trailer before the film drops in March.

As it turns out, it won't just include X-23 and graphic violence. It will include X-23 causing graphic violence, because this little girl is as much a murder machine as Logan:

Here, we learn two very important things about X-23, played by Dafne Keen: that she's fully capable of leaping around and slashing throats with her claws, and that she's otherwise a normal, quiet kid who likes potato chips and X-Men comics. Comics about the X-Men apparently exist in this universe, even though Wolverine insists most of it is exaggerated anyway, while staring down a drawing of himself in his classic yellow outfit. Still, if you substitute the claws for psychic powers, X-23 sounds a lot like Eleven from Stranger Things, so time will tell how different of a character she'll be.

The trailer also gives a good look at the film's villains, Donald Pierce (Boyd Holbrook) and his gang of cyborg mercenaries, the Reavers. Whoever's in charge sent them out to capture X-23, which puts them directly at odds with her new friends Logan and Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart). But again, we get a clear shot of X-23 gruesomely dispatching a cyborg, so it's not clear what exactly she needs Wolverine for. Someone to drive her around, maybe?

Logan comes out on March 3, 2017.
