New ‘Justice League’ Poster Unites the League Once Again
The head honchos at DC have been keeping quiet about Justice League since its trailer premiered almost three weeks ago, but they've apparently decided it's time to drop something new today. Director Zack Snyder has come out of the woodwork to release a promo poster featuring all the currently known members of the league.
Here's the team once again, of Batman (Ben Affleck), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller), and Cyborg (Ray Fisher):
The five superheroes seem to be standing their ground, "united," against some offscreen evil. Perhaps the fear of low ticket sales, not that it's been a problem for the past few DC movies. Superman (Henry Cavill) is not shown in the poster since he is presumably dead or at least pretty banged up after the climax of Batman v Superman, but he's still credited as being in the film on IMDB. Because honestly, Warner Bros. must know better than to make a Justice League film that completely leaves out Superman.
The text reads "Unite the League," if you can read the "unite" hiding behind Affleck's cowl. Said uniting may be a feat in and of itself since the Comic-Con trailer showed friction between this super-serious incarnation of Batman and the least serious Aquaman we've ever seen. But they'll have to work together anyways, if the official synopsis has anything to say about it:
The villain is Steppenwolf, played by Ciarán Hinds (Mance Rayder on Game of Thrones), Darkseid's military commander, who will no doubt give the dynamic five some trouble. There's nothing better than watching beloved characters coming together over one common enemy, as seen with the Avengers success, so hopefully DC can unite to actually pull it off.
Justice League hits theaters November 17, 2017.
