‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ Rumors Point to a New Alien 'Space Horse'
Spoilers ahead for Star Wars: The Last Jedi. You've been warned:
Last summer a Star Wars fan in Dubrovnik, Croatia was able to get some looks at the Episode VIII set and spotted what could only be described as an "alien horse." Although it has not been officially confirmed, it seems we may have some more details on the mysterious space horse, which will play some sort of role in Finn's story during The Last Jedi.
Making Star Wars reported that the space horse, so to say, is actually called a "falthier." The falthiers are a breed of race horses located on Canto Bight, a casino-esque planet known for its gambling. Although it has a beige body reminiscent of a horse, its head looks like a that of a very large Chihuahua, or Dobby from Harry Potter, or even a bit like Yoda. The ears look like a bird's wingspan, which probably makes for excellent balance.
Rumor has it that the scene where they're most prominent involves Finn (John Boyega) and new character Rose (Kelly Marie Tran) on the escapee end of a chase. Ducking into stables for cover, they steal a falthier and flee, eventually finding sanctuary in a colorful café in which they meet with an as-of-yet unknown contact.
From what we know, it sounds like The Last Jedi is going to have a number of weird new alien creatures, between these space horses and the various critters that will roam on Luke's island while he trains Rey. Keep your eyes peeled for falthiers when Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15, 2017.
