Sony Reveals the 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' Stan Lee Cameo in New Promotional Clip

We've complained before about how Sony seems a little too eager to release an overabundance of trailers for the new Spider-Man film, but now things are getting even more ridiculous. Sony has released the Stan Lee cameo online, ruining perhaps the last secret this movie might have held. Here it is:
What's next? Is Sony going to release the post-credits scene?
Okay, so Deadpool had its Stan Lee cameo in a teaser, but at this point Sony has released so much material from their film that spoiling the cameo just seems gratuitous. At least we know not to get our hopes up, considering that Lee's appearance in this movie is nowhere near as cool as his Lizard-battling librarian role in Amazing Spider-Man.
What we do get is a little more of the relationship between Peter and Jon Favreau Happy Hogan, showing one of the key elements of the movie: the fact that, in addition to being a superhero, Peter is also genuinely interning at Starktech.
We get it, Sony. You've made an MCU movie, and you're very proud of it. But showing off more of this movie won't make audiences any more likely to buy tickets. With a month left until Homecoming hits theaters, there's a good chance we'll be seeing more of this movie before its release. Perhaps we're all better off just sticking our fingers in our ears and humming the Spider-Man theme song every time Sony tries to tell us about the rest of the movie, just so they can't spoil any more of it.
Spider-Man: Homecoming hits US theaters July 7th, 2017.
