HBO's 'Fahrenheit 451' Movie Adds 'The Mummy' Star Sofia Boutella
Universal
There's something to be said about a TV movie version of Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451, a groundbreaking novel that just so happened to involve people throwing away books to watch television instead. But that contradiction aside, it's still a great story and it's building up a great cast.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, actress Sofia Boutella is joining the HBO movie as its female lead, Clarisse. She'll be starring alongside Michael B. Jordan (Creed, Fant4stic) as fireman Guy Montag and Michael Shannon (Man of Steel) as Fire Captain Beatty. Considering how many aliens and monsters she's played over the past couple years, Boutella will finally have a human role again.

Boutella has appeared in several scene-stealing roles within the past few years, appearing in Kingsman: The Secret Service (as the evil henchwoman with swords for legs) and Star Trek Beyond, with an upcoming role in The Mummy (as the mummy). That's an impressive range of genres, but nothing too dystopian until now.

For those who haven't read Bradbury's 1953 book, it's a dystopian tale following "fireman" Guy Montag, whose job is to set fires instead of putting them out. Specifically, his job is to set fire to any houses found to contain books or other illegal materials, until he meets a young woman named Clarisse who makes him doubt whether the whole system works.

It's a phenomenal story so hopefully HBO will do justice to the material, even if it's a movie that tells you to go read a book instead. HBO has no official release date for Fahrenheit 451 at this time.
