Justice League is going to be a big movie. A big, potentially very messy movie. Messy movies are not exactly new in the DCEU—if you have to release a special three-hour version of your movie to cram everything in after fans complained that your theatrical cut made no sense (as in the case of Batman v Superman), you were probably a little overambitious with the whole project.

Now the additional reshoots for Justice League (happening just a few months from the movie's release date) show that the studio is eager to pack in a load of new stuff, including (apparently) the noteworthy Hall of Justice, the traditional home of the Justice League:

A new set that's been constructed as part of the reshoots bears an uncanny similarity to the Hall of Justice's appearance, but it does beg the question—is this a set that's being rebuilt for pickups, or is Joss Whedon now overseeing the filming of some completely new scenes that are throwing this iconic location into the movie at the last minute?

Reshoots are not always a bad sign. Adding in brand-new scenes at a later date won't necessarily mean that a movie is going to turn out a horrible, jumbled mess—Rogue One proves that. These new reshoots for Justice League might prove to be useful in fixing some of the mistakes that previous DC movies have made, but it's hard to be overly optimistic, if only because we've been here so many times before. DC's moviemaking pattern seems to revolve around treating the initial shoot as a practice for more, extensive filming later on, to the point that fans can't necessarily even trust that scenes in the movie's trailers will actually appear in a movie at all. Even Joss Whedon has poked fun at the whole thing:

Ha, good one.
