If there's one thing Supreme Leader Snoke is known for, it's looking a little too much The Emperor. As a wrinkly old guy in black robes who appears via hologram, Snoke is almost identical in practice to Emperor Palpatine, no matter how big Snoke likes to appear in his holographic form. Thankfully, if leaked photos of upcoming Lego sets can be believed, Rian Johnson has taken a different direction with the character in The Last Jedi —one which adequately sets Snoke apart from evil villains that have come before. After all, it's difficult to imagine Darth Sidious wearing a gold kimono.

The figure's pretty compelling evidence by itself, as Lego sets often contain juicy spoilers for upcoming movies. The character's image, though, also happens to match a description given by an inside source to the fansite Making Star Wars back in April, making this all the more plausible.

We also know that this time around, Star Wars is getting a little snazzier. The Last Jedi will show off a new location, Canto Bight, which will be a swanky gambling planet where rich, well-dressed galactic citizens come to socialize. It's been rumored that a large puppet will be used in some scenes in the movie to give Snoke a physical presence alongside actors, so it's worth assuming that this costume change may be connected to Snoke's need to dress to impress at a party.

If Snoke is hobnobbing with the galaxy's richest people, the First Order must be pretty well-funded, which explains where the endless stream of new military hardware is coming from—hardware which, according to the same Lego set, includes evil black BB-8 droids.

So Snoke will be gold now, and BB-8 has an evil cousin. It seems that Rian Johnson may have found a way to make his Star Wars movie really stand out from what's come before.

Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi hits US theaters on December 15th, 2017.
