Let's not waste time here—everyone knows that the best part of the recent X-Men movies (the main series ones anyway) are the Quicksilver scenes. Seriously, it's weird that this guy hasn't had his own movie yet. Why Fox only keeps using him for a single glorious scene in every movie is perplexing to say the least.

Whatever the reason for the sparing use of this character, fans are rejoicing today, as it's been announced that Evan Peters, who plays Peter Maximoff, will be returning for X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Considering Quicksilver's popularity, it would be surprising if he wasn't coming back, but this is a nice thing to know either way.

Based on the way Dark Phoenix is shaping up, with other established castmembers including Jennifer Lawrence, James McAvoy, and Michael Fassbender returning alongside Sansa Stark Sophie Turner, it's clear that despite all of X-Men: Apocalypse's many faults, Fox is willing to give this particular roster of characters yet another shot. This is a solid idea—after all, X-Men: First Class is one of the best X-Men movies, and this cast is pretty phenomenal considering the reputations that Fassbender, McAvoy, and particularly Lawrence have built up since.

That said, the movies following First Class have struggled to reach the heights achieved in Matthew Vaughn's turn with the franchise—Quicksilver scenes aside, Days of Future Past and Apocalypse have their moments, but it's still clear that these actors aren't being used to their full potential. If newbie director (and longtime franchise producer) Simon Kinberg should take any piece of advice from fans over the way Dark Phoenix should unfold, it's this: make better use of Quicksilver. He's awesome, and he deserves more than a single scene of running around, followed by lots of inexplicable standing around.

Or, y'know, just make another scene with a Eurythmics song. That'd work too.
