By this point, it's safe to say that one of the best things about a new series of Rick and Morty is actually the promotional campaign that comes along with it. Sure, the show will probably be fantastic when it returns on July 30th (we've already seen the first episode, and it's everything you'd expect), but the return of the bizarre, surreal comedy has also brought with it the biggest Rick in the world (that's also a truck and a store), and that's just the tip of the iceberg.

Now, Adult Swim has given us yet another bizarre promo for the show, in the form of a surrealist romp through a variety of different animation art styles, as Morty (very literally) drops acid. And it's amazing.

We've been seeing a lot of this kind of style-breaking animation from Rick and Morty over the past couple of weeks—we've also been given tiny, non-canonical claymation adventures in which our heroes act our key scenes from classic science fiction movies. It seems that, as part of this season's expanded scope, Dan Harmon and his team are trying to push the animated series' boundaries in terms of weird and wonderful visuals. All of this is very welcome, as it fits perfectly with the general theme and tone of Rick and Morty in a way that might not quite work with other grown-up cartoons.

There's not long to wait now until the show returns to our televisions, but if this is the stuff that the show's creative team are happy to show off in advance, who knows what wacky and wonderful stuff awaits within the new episodes when they finally arrive!
