A new trailer for Star Wars: Battlefront II packs more punch than anything else we've seen yet from the game.

To find out what happened after Return of the Jedi (but before The Force Awakens) you could pick up a book like Star Wars: Aftermath, or you could pick up a controller and play your way through the exciting story in the upcoming game sequel.

The new trailer for the game from EA provides a look at some of the in-game cinematics for the single-player mode, including a fly-through of the Death Star's wreckage and some tense moments involving the main character Iden Versio, a fighter for the Galactic Empire, and her father, Garrick Versio.

There are also some quick cameos from Luke Skywalker, General Leia, and Maz Kanata that should tempt any fan into pre-ordering the game.

As io9 points out, fans were a little disappointed that the first Battlefront game didn't bother to include a single-player mode, but as this trailer shows, developers didn't make the same mistake twice.

The shots debuting the new single-player mode seem to promise an even more in-depth, dynamic game-playing experience than the first game offered - and that's really saying something, considering the first Battlefront was one of the best video games of 2015.

And even though the original Battlefront was a little light on story and character development, everything we've seen so far from Battlefront II suggests this is the modern Star Wars game we've been waiting for.

We don't yet know where the game ends in terms of the timeline, but one thing seems certain - the force is strong with this one. We can't wait until Battlefront II hits stores on November 17.
