James Cameron Expands Avatar Sequels To Three Movies
Things keep getting better and better for Avatar fans. First James Cameron confirms that there will actually be a sequel, now he's saying there will actually be three of the buggers! Fox studios and Cameron announced that they have set 3 well known screenwriting teams to work on the trilogy. The screenwriting talent pool will include Josh Frieman from War of the Worlds and Rise of The Planet of the Apes' Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver, among others.
You can expect the first of these sequels to be out by December 2016, after that there'll be one a year with the concluding film released at the end of 2018. This tight release schedule will be made possible by the fact that Cameron wants all 3 films shot simultaneously.
On top of the prime writing talent, Cameron and Co-Producer Jon Landau will once again team up with visual effects team WETA who have created stunning worlds ranging from Lord of the Rings to the more recent Man of Steel and of course, the original Avatar.
